The Nilay are hamsa huggie earrings with a small gold-plated hand hanging from a snug hinged hoop. The palm is set with sapphire-blue cubic zirconia around a turquoise-tone center in the shape of an evil eye, with clear CZ across the fingertips. The open-cut fingers keep the charm light so it moves freely.

Gold-filled has a thick layer of real gold bonded to a base metal, so it lasts longer than plating. Gold-plated has a thinner gold finish and needs a little more care. Stainless steel is tarnish-resistant. Sterling silver and gold-filled develop a soft patina over time, which is normal for real metal.
