The water itself won't hurt your piece. What will, if left ignored, is what the water carries — saltwater, chlorine, sunscreen, and body products all leave a residue that slowly wears down the metal's surface if it's left to sit.

Our Care Ritual: Every time your jewelry meets the ocean, a pool, or a heavy sweat sesh, give it a rinse with clean, fresh water and dry it completely with a soft cloth right after. It takes about 30 seconds, and it's the one habit that keeps your piece looking the way it did the day it arrived.

A couple other small habits that help: apply perfumes and lotions before putting your jewelry on, and give it a home in the provided pouch when you're not wearing it.

We work with premium sterling silver, gold-filled, and stainless steel across our collections. Since materials vary by piece, check the product details for the exact composition of this one.

Our stainless steel is virtually indestructible and naturally tarnish-resistant. Sterling silver and gold-filled are a little more delicate — over time, they'll develop a soft, organic patina from regular wear. That's the beauty of genuine metal aging, not a flaw. Keep up the rinse ritual from the care section above, and all three will hold up beautifully to daily life.

We stand behind every piece we send out. Because we're upfront about how to care for your jewelry, normal tarnish or dulling caused by skipping the rinse-and-dry ritual is considered a maintenance issue rather than a manufacturing flaw, and isn't eligible for return or refund.
